Hovhannisyan: Armenian delegation managed in Baku
The Armenian delegation, having travelled to Baku to attend the 2nd plenary session of Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, is safely back home.
“I hail the Euronest plenary session and its outcomes, and I think the participation of our delegation was right and justified,” head of Armenian delegation Vahan Hovhannisyan told the news conference.
Expressing his gratitude to all the members of the delegation for courageous and combined work, Mr. Hovhannisyan said they managed to include certain emphasis in the resolutions and discussion documents.
Mr. Hovhannisyan referred to the bureau’s meeting with president Aliyev, which didn’t include mass media representatives, and, according to the MP, perhaps this explains why Azerbaijan’s president forgot about Nagorno-Karabakh making no reference to it.
However, the next day Armenians became “fascists and occupants.” “The speech had negative influence; it was a cold shower for the envoys. Some Azeri MPs even talked to us during the break saying they were negatively influenced, too,” said Mr. Hovhannisyan refusing to unveil the Azeri MPs’.
No matter how much Armenian delegation wanted, it couldn’t damage Azerbaijan’s reputation in the way Aliyev did it. “I’m thinking our delegation managed in Baku,” said Mr. Hovhannisyan.
