Edgar Hakobyan: Upcoming parliamentary elections to be qualitatively different from previous ones
The upcoming parliamentary elections will be qualitatively different from Armenia’s previous elections, Chairman of the Free Society Institute NGO, political expert Edgar Hakobyan told a news conference. Hakobyan noted that the difference will be felt in electoral competition, higher number of opposition parties and development of Internet.
According to him, the Free Society Institute is to monitor the upcoming parliamentary elections.
“We are going to send observers to all polling stations. Besides, mobile groups will collect facts fixed by our observers. We will also monitor the pre-election preparations and campaign period and will give both positive and negative facts in our report,” said the expert.
In the pre-election period, the Free Society Institute is going to clean up the electoral rolls, Hakobyan concluded.
