Congress leader speaks of creating counterbalance in parliament
“I am not going to make long speeches, I am not going to describe the situation in the country, you can feel it yourself,” Armenian National Congress leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan said today in a rally in Yeghvard.
HAK leader didn’t introduce their election program; he stressed that after 1999 Armenia failed to have a really working parliament.
Today, as the first Armenian president stated, there is an opportunity to create a counterbalance in the parliament. L. Ter-Petrosyan said the Congress has been fighting for four years, its members had appeared in jails.
“You cannot find such a force in neither post-Soviet country. All the delegations that arrive in Yerevan meet with president, prime minister and me, because they understand there is a counterbalance,” he said.
Finally, according to Congress leader, coalition is “split” today.
“Prosperous Armenia supports ARF and Heritage initiatives; PA is split from the coalition,” said HAK leader.
