Serzh Sargsyan visits Kajaran: copper and molybdenum combine
Today in the frameworks of his visit to Syunik region the RA president Serzh Sargsyan visited Kajaran, the combine of copper and molybdenum, where he took part in opening of the grinding department.
The owners of the “Zangezur copper and molybdenum Combine” Closed Joint Stock Company are German “Cronimet mining Company” with 60% of shares, “Plant of Pure Iron” OJSC 15% of shares, Armenian Molybdenum Production Ltd. (12.5%) and Zangezour Mining Ltd (12.5%).
On 2011 around 15 million tons of ore has been processed and in 2012 around 17 million tons of ore is planned to be processed, last year around 90.000 tons of copper was produced.
The biggest ore mill in the region has been installed here in 2009-2011.
10.6 milliards AMD have been invested in order to modernize the combine, new department and the infrastructures. For purchasing equipments 18 milliards drams was needed.
3300 people work in combine at present.
