“First, Azerbaijan should stop the arms race and military rhetoric. Second, Azerbaijan should prepare its society not for war, but for peace,” Deputy Speaker of Parliament Edward Sharmazanov told Panorama.am, commenting on a statement by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Azerbaijani leader had said in particular that the day will come when the Azerbaijani flag will wave in Stepanakert and Shoushi.

“If Aliyev junior very much wants to see Azerbaijani flag in Stepanakert, there is only one way to reach it: to establish diplomatic relations with independent republic of Artsakh, as a result of which, the flag of the independent republic of Artsakh will wave in NKR Embassy in Baku, and they can place their flag on the building of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Stepanakert, capital city of NKR. I think sooner or later the country located east of Artsakh will realize that there is no alternative to the international recognition of NKR,” Sharmazanov said.
