Three Persian Gulf islands to form a new province
Three Persian Gulf islands of Abu Musa and the Greater and Lesser Tunbs will form to-be-founded Persian Gulf province, FARS news agency report says.
In an interview with FARS Iranian MP Vali Esmayili said that the Iranian lawmakers have developed a new draft law which recommends uniting of three Persian Gulf islands and creating new Persian Gulf tourism and cultural province.
Iran and United Arab Emirates share a disaccord over the islands. UAE foreign ministry was discontent when Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visited Abu Musa Island recently.
In this respect Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast said on Wednesday that Iran’s sovereignty over the three Persian Gulf islands of Abu Musa and the Greater and Lesser Tunbs is not negotiable.
