2012 Theatre Season kicks off: Armenian actors on Globe stage
2012 Theatre Season kicked off on April 23 in Great Britain, with the festival lasting till fall. Armenian National Academic Theatre after G Sundukyan will perform “King John” play staged by Tigran Gasparyan.
Artists are brought together from all over the globe, to enjoy speaking plays in their own language, in the Globe, within the architecture Shakespeare wrote for. A total of 55 premieres will be staged.
Festival director Tom Bird said Shakespeare's plays have universal appeal and that "his stories and characters are identifiable to all of us."
