European Judo Championships kicked off Thursday in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk. Armenia’s Hovhannes Davtyan (60kg) beat his rivals in three rounds and moved to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals Davtyan will try to conquer Ukraine’s Georgi Zantaria.
Armenia’s Gayane Harutyunyan (48kg), Janna Stankevich (57) and Armen Nazaryan (66kg) lost their chances to fight for the forthcoming Olympic Games as the tournament is the final Olympic ranking list points-scoring event before the London Games.
