Gallup Organization: RPA and Prosperous Armenia favorites in forthcoming elections
On the threshold of parliamentary elections a project consisting of pre-election polls is being conducted in Armenia commissioned by ArmNews TV and implemented by Armenian Sociological Association and Baltic Surveys / The Gallup Organization. The first poll results were introduced on April 17. The project is designed to be conducted from April 2012 till February 2013.
Rasa Alisauskiene, member of Board of Directors at The Gallup Organization, introduced the results of the 2nd poll conducted between April 16-22.
A sample of 1,015 Armenian residents were interviewed. According to the poll results two weeks prior to the elections Republican Party of Armenia and Prosperous Armenia Party are the favorites.
According to the poll results 39% (potential voters – 42%) of the respondents will vote for the RPA, while 26% (potential voters - 28%) said they will vote for Prosperous Armenia.
“The index offers evidence that the rating of RPA has grown within a week, while the other parties recorded same results,” Mrs. Alisauskiene said.
According to the poll results HAK, RoL and ARF are potential candidates to get seats in the parliament. The last two weeks of campaigning will display chances for Heritage Party to appear in the parliament.
