Beckenbauer confident Robben will sign Bayern extension
Franz Beckenbauer is confident that Arjen Robben will eventually sign an extension to his existing contract with Bayern Munich, Goal.com reported.
"Robben knows what to expect here at Bayern. That's why I expect him to sign a new deal eventually. It would be in the best interest of both parties," Beckenbauer said to Bild.
"I know that Robben is angry with me because I criticized him, but that doesn't change my positive opinion of him. I am a big Robben fan.
"He's indispensable for us on the right as long as we're playing in a formation with wingers, just like Ribery on the left. Our entire style of play is based on their specific qualities. Robben has scored a lot of decisive goals in the past few seasons."
Robben has a contract with Bayern until June 2013.
