ICES says elections were in line with international standards
The International expert Center for Electoral Systems (ICES) which includes 20 independent experts from 8 EU states, USA and Israel released its assessment on parliamentary elections in Armenia.
ICES held a short-term mission. It was chaired by Member of Knesset Alexander Tsinker. The experts visited 117 polling stations yesterday in Yerevan, Gyumri, Etchmiadzin, Artashat, Abovyan and Vanadzor.
“The elections were in line with the international standards, without any significant violations,” ICES expert Lidia Laua said. However, the experts said in some polling stations the elections were accurately organized, in some others they were not. The experts have registered the problem with vanishing stamps.
“But the problem was managed as soon as the stamp was changed,” said the expert.
The experts praised CEC work as the staff was working hard.
