Yerevan marks May 9 triple holiday with military parade
Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Samvel Nikoyan, Deputy Speaker Edward Sharmazanov, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, members of the Armenian parliament, ministers, veterans, public and political figures visited Yerevan’s Victory Park today to mark May 9 triple holiday – Victory Day and the 20th anniversaries of the establishment of NKR Defense Army and the liberation of Shoushi.
The high-ranking delegation laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to pay tribute to the memory of fighters who were killed during the Great Patriotic War and the liberation of Shoushi.
The national anthems of Armenia and Russia were performed. Those present observed a minute's silence in memory of the perished warriors.
The Victory Park hosted a military parade.
To wrap up the celebration, the high-ranking officials and the veterans had field meals.
PM Tigran Sargsyan offered a toast for veterans.
“I wish you good health for us to mark together this holiday in the same place next year too,” the Prime Minister said to veterans.
