It is only regrettable that Ashot Zakaryan quit HAK, said Lyudmila Sargsyan, Chairwoman of Social Democrat Hunchakian Party (SDHP) which is included in Armenian National Congress (HAK).

Head of HAK Gyumri territorial organization Ashot Zakaryan issued a statement today saying, “…it’s no secret that Prosperous Armenia Party has been and will be considered as Robert Kocharyan’s political support. Contributing to PAP’s back-up plan, something we witnessed during the parliamentary elections, paves the way for Robert Kocharyan’s return.”

Panorama.am asked Mrs. Sargsyan to comment on Zakaryan’s statement.

However, she refused to answer any questions.

“I am not going to comment on Ashot Zakaryan’s statement, that is his own approach,” Mrs. Sargsyan said.

Nevertheless, we asked her a few questions.

- Aren’t you worried that many are leaving Armenian National Congress?

- No comment.

- Is it possible that further forces or individuals quit HAK soon? What kind of mood is HAK in?

- In a rather fine mood.

- Would you stay in HAK unless you gained a parliamentary mandate?

- I surely would. Our struggle does not end, it is going on.

- Some say that HAK should have renounced its parliamentary mandates. What can you say in this connection?

- I am sorry I am not going to comment on that. We have a decision, and I respect it.

Chairwoman of SDHP Lyudmila Sargsyan, ranked 5th on HAK candidate list, is one of the HAK members who gained parliamentary mandates.
