10 tons of garbage cleaned away from Batman Armenian Church
10 tons of garbage has been cleaned away from an ancient Armenian Church in the Turkish province of Batman coming from 11th century, Turkish news site Haberler.com said.
It was reported earlier that the church was being used as a garbage place by the local villagers. The columns and illustrated stones are used as staircases in either homes or in cattle sheds.
As soon as media reports unveiled the real scene of the church, Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism plans to clean it and restore for the tourists.
