168 Zham: Oskanian may become Speaker of Parliament
According to 168 Zham, Prosperous Armenia Party faces growing discontent among its members over joining the coalition government.
Former Foreign Minister, PAP member Vartan Oskanian speaks out against a formal coalition with RPA, with United Labor Party leader Gurgen Arsenyan, ranked 4th on PAP candidate list, Vahe Hovhannisyan, ranked 7th, Hmayak Hovhannisyan, ranked 9th, and Elinar Vardanyan, ranked 11th, supporting him.
According to the paper, Oskanian mulls forming a team of his own, and if PAP joins the coalition government, the above mentioned five PAP members may leave the PAP parliamentary faction but stay in parliament.
It is reported that while negotiating with President Serzh Sargsyan, PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan offered to appoint Oskanian Speaker of Parliament in an attempt to prevent party split, the paper writes.
