Haykakan Zhamanak: Prime minister’s position in focus
According to Haykakan Zhamanak, some Russian circles try to persuade Serzh Sargsyan to appoint either of two Karens - ex-mayor of Yerevan, Gazprombank deputy director Karen Karapetyan and former head of presidential administration, MP Karen Karapetyan - as prime minister.
Paper’s sources say Prosperous Armenia Party doesn’t mind if either of them becomes prime minister.
According to the paper, Serzh Sargsyan has not yet made a final decision. Current prime minister’s candidacy is acceptable to him for international “face,” however, he is also concerned about Tigran Sargsyan’s reputation in the country.
