Orange Foundation continues charitable projects in Shirak region
Orange Foundation and Shen Charitable NGO continue implementing charitable projects, directed to development of rural communities in Armenia. By implementing such projects in the frames of this strategic partnership, Orange Foundation and Shen have in the center of their activity the children, their education, health, pre-school and sport education.
According to Orange Armenia press office, in the framework of charitable projects, two gyms have been opened in Shirak region: one in Basen, and the second one in Arevshat. Basen has 2200 inhabitants, out of which 260 are schoolchildren, and Arevshat is a village of 2097, including 400 schoolchildren. The two gyms, which are equipped with the items and equipments necessary for involvement in different sports, now can fully meet the requirements of the sport program of the schools. enable to organize properly the curriculum. It is also planned that both gyms, open to the whole community, will not be meant only for schoolchildren, it will allow also to create different sport circles and tournaments.
Bruno Duthoit, Chairman of Orange Foundation said: “Orange Foundation has children and vulnerable rural communities in the center of its attention and these are not the first gyms that we support in the regions. I know that both villages needed them.”
As usual, Orange Foundation and Shen NGO are not alone in these actions: local communities as well as Caritas and Lincy Foundation have had their valuable contribution, notably for the renovation of the gym. Orange has allotted in total 4.5 million AMD for the realization of the two projects.
As a reminder, already five other gyms have been opened in other regions of Armenia with the support of Orange: in Malishka (Vayots Dzor), in Davit Bek (Syunik), in Marmashen (Shirak), in Jujevan and Noyemberyan (Tavush).
