Sneijder: Robben should come to Inter
Wesley Sneijder has hit out at the Bayern Munich fans for their behavior towards Arjen Robben during Tuesday's friendly against Netherlands, and feels the Bavarians have not done enough to stand up for the winger in the wake of his penalty miss in the Champions League final loss to Chelsea on Saturday, Goal.com reported.
Robben was jeered by the Bayern faithful every time he touched the ball in Tuesday's friendly, and Sneijder feels their actions were unacceptable, before adding that his compatriot would be more than welcome at Inter.
"The fans' reaction was absolutely disgraceful. And that's not all. It's also remarkable to see that nobody at Bayern has defended him," Sneijder stated to Voetbal International.
"They are pushing him away from the club like this. It has been a very disappointing evening for Arjen. If it's up to me, he'll move to Inter this summer."
Despite the events during Bayern's 3-2 win over the Dutch, a summer transfer seems unlikely as Robben recently signed a new contract with the Bavarians until June 2015.
