Haykakan Zhamanak: Fight for Interior Minister’s portfolio starts
The Cabinet of Ministers will soon undergo structural change, seeing establishment of Interior Ministry, Haykakan Zhamanak reports.
The Ministry will have at least 5 departments, of which 4 will be police subdivisions - criminal, municipal, road, and defense. The fifth department will carry out the functions of Emergency Situations Ministry.
“The new Ministry will also include several small departments. With no final decision yet on establishment of Interior Ministry, the fight for Minister’s portfolio has started, featuring main contenders: RA Police Chief Vova Gasparyan, Emergency Minister Armen Yeritsyan and Yerevan Police Chief Nersik Nazaryan,” the paper says.
