Caucasus 2011 International Conference opens in Yerevan
Yerevan hosts Caucasus 2011 International Conference. The conference was initiated by the Caucasus Institute. The event brings together experts, scholars, journalists and public activists from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Russia and Europe.
Topics for discussion include political, social and economic developments in the Caucasus in 2011, ethnopolitical conflicts in the Caucasus, and regional security in the South Caucasus.
Former EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Peter Semneby attended the opening session of the conference. In his opening remarks, Mr. Semneby stressed the importance of the conference in creating stability and an atmosphere of mutual understanding in the region.
