Armenia’s First Republic Day marked in Canada
Canada’s Senate hosted a reception on May 28 dedicated to the 94th anniversary of First Republic of Armenia, initiated by the Armenian Embassy in Canada, Armenian National Committee of Canada and Canada-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.
Armenian Ambassador to Canada Armen Yeganyan addressed the opening ceremony of the event. In his remarks, Mr. Yeganyan noted that 94 years ago Armenians proved to the world that they are able not only to survive but also to win and to restore their statehood.
The reception was attended by members of the Canadian Senate and government, ambassadors accredited to Canada and representatives of the local Armenian community.
