Jermain Defoe drops out of England squad after father's death
Jermain Defoe has dropped out of the England Euro 2012 squad following the death of his father but is due to return to the Three Lions camp in Poland, Sports Mole reported.
The Tottenham Hotspur striker flew home to the United Kingdom this morning after hearing the news of his father's death, who passed away overnight.
England go up against France for their first group fixture of the Euros on Monday but if Defoe remains absent for the clash, Danny Welbeck and Andy Carroll will be the only strikers available for manager Roy Hodgson.
