Saddam Hussein's presidential secretary Abid Hamid Mahmoud executed
Saddam Hussein's presidential secretary and chief bodyguard Abid Hamid Mahmoud has been executed, a spokesman with the justice ministry said on Thursday, Voice of Russia reported.
Mahmoud was four on the list of 55 most wanted Iraqi officials targeted by the US. He was designated “ace of diamonds” in the US administrations’ “most wanted Iraqi playing cards.”
Mahmound was arrested in 2003. In 2008, the US army handed him over to the Iraqi authorities. He was sentenced to death as one of the people accused of the massacre of the participants of the Shiite uprising in the early 1990-s.
