What Washington wishes?
Golos Armenii paper has commented on Hillary Clinton’s statement at a news conference in Azerbaijan that a new variant of Karabakh conflict settlement must be introduced at a meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers in Paris. According to the paper, if Washington really wishes it can make Baku stop escalating the situation.
In all probability Azerbaijan tries to convince the U.S. that escalation around Karabakh is beneficial to Washington because if war resumes military operations will take place on Iran’s border, which will make it possible to deploy peacekeeping forces to near-border area, the paper writes.
