Messi: I dream of being a world champion
Barcelona forward Lionel Messi says he is delighted after scoring a hat-trick during Argentina’s 4-3 win over Brazil, MTN Football reported.
"It’s a very happy day for me after beating Brazil and scoring three. It’s a beautiful day for me,” said Messi.
Argentina legend Diego Maradona had questioned Messi’s leadership skills prior to the match, but the current Argentine captain says he prefers to lead by example.
“I never argue with what people think. I always try to give my all for the national team. The praise from my teammates fills me with pride,” he said.
“There’s still a long way to go before the World Cup, but if we play like this we are sure to boost our chances of qualifying,” Messi said.
“I dream of being a world champion, but we’re still a long way away from that.”
