Injured Ray Clemence England's latest casualty
England goalkeeping coach Ray Clemence is set to return home for surgery after snapping his Achilles tendon during the warm-up to the 1-1 draw with Group D rivals France, Goal.com reported.
The former Liverpool and Tottenham goalkeeper was seen standing on the touchlines with the aid of crutches, and England manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed Clemence will need to fly back to England for surgery.
Clemence is a long-standing member of England’s backroom staff, and his injury in Donetsk comes after Gareth Barry, Frank Lampard, John Ruddy and Gary Cahill were all forced out of the tournament through injury.
