Official says harvest expected to be rich
This year the harvest is expected to be rich, although it is difficult to predict what surprises the weather has prepared for us, Gevorg Harutyunyan of the Ministry of Agriculture said in a news conference.
Talking about the already damages, and the compensation to be offered to the farmers, the official said: “The regional authorities are examining the situation, represent it to us, we’ll conclude it and submit to the Cabinet, to the Ministry of Territorial Administration.”
He said that this year fungus disease was not so widely spread, though the farmers complain insisting on the opposite. Fungus disease appears when the weather is wet, while this year it was drier.
