Administration of Malatia owns Armenian Church
The authorities of Turkish province of Malatia have bought the land where Armenian Church of Tachoro is located, Turkish news site Sondakika said. It’s reported that the church is now being reconstructed, and the activities are planned to last till 2013.
The church located in the block Cavusoglu (Hrant Dink’s birthplace) was sold in 20 thousand Turkish lira (about $11 000). The administration plans to reconstruct the church and to use it as a culture center.
Armenian Church of Tachoro was built more than three centuries ago.
