OSCE Chairperson-in-Office calls on to continue working on basic principles
OSCE calls on the sides to continue working on the basic principles of Karabakh conflict, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ireland's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Eamon Gilmore told reporters in Baku, Trend reported.
He called on to withdraw snipers from the line of contact and to refrain from the use of force.
“The time has come to build up confidence and trust," Mr. Gilmore said.
The Russian city of Kazan hosted a tripartite meeting between Presidents of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan on June 24, 2011. The sides were expected to agree on the basic principles of Karabakh conflict at the meeting. However, Baku did not agree to the package of the basic principles. More, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attempted to impose 10 new proposals. Azerbaijan offers to sign a Karabakh peace agreement without basic principles, while the international community and the Armenian side say it is impossible to work out a peace agreement until the sides agree on the basic principles.
