Haykakan Zhamanak: Sheriff to get position in parliament
Former Deputy Police Chief and Commander of Police Troops Grigor Grigoryan, dubbed Sheriff, an MP, who ran on the PAP’s candidate list, will get a position in parliament, Haykakan Zhamanak writes. He will be appointed Deputy Chairman of NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs, the paper says.
Haykakan Zhamanak’s correspondent has revealed that former Deputy Chairman, Orinats Yerkir member Ishkhan Khachatryan is unwilling to quit his job and seeks reappointment. However, secretary of PAP parliamentary faction Naira Zohrabyan said that the right to nominate a candidate belongs to them according to Daunt formula, and their candidate is Grigor Grigoryan.
