Zhoghovurd: RPA still uncertain about Gegharkunik governor
RPA failed to appoint Gegharkunik governor Thursday, Zhoghovurd writes. This is because MP Rafik Grigoryan does not want to be governor, and RPA fails to find a “convenient candidate.”
According to Zhoghovurd’s information, Republican deputy governor Artyusha Ghukasyan is carrying out lobbying at the presidential residence to get governor’s position. Ghukasyan is notoriously known for his criminal past and is the most convenient candidate.
“In 2006-2007 only, Shant-Seyran Ltd owned by Ghukasyan received AMD 21 million from government for Madina irrigation program of which he embezzled AMD 18 million,” the paper writes.
