Maradona says Cristiano Ronaldo deserves monument
Diego Maradona believes that Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo deserves to have a monument erected in his honour in Lisbon.
The 27-year-old had been widely accused of under-performing at international level in the past, but came to life in Ukraine and Poland, leading his side's charge to the last four of Euro 2012 with three goals in four games.
And Maradona believes that the Real Madrid star should be given more credit for his performances for his country.
"Cristiano Ronaldo had been struggling with performance at a national level for years," he wrote in his column for Times of India.
