Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun: Ararat Hayat Hotel to be built in Republic Square
One of the government buildings in Republic Square of Yerevan, where the Ministry of Transport and the Main Post Office are located, will be turned into a hotel, Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun reports. Hotel’s future owner has already agreed with government on building Ararat Hayat Hotel in this place, the paper says and adds that there is a hotel of the same name in Moscow, a meeting place for Armenian and Russian oligarchs and state officials. The hotel is owned by former MP Samvel Sargsyan who was governor of Vayots Dzor region before being elected as an MP. Rumors say old building’s façade will be kept unchanged, the paper writes.
