Hraparak: Pre-election intrigue in Sisian
The pre-election process in the town of Sisian, Syunik region, has entered an intrigue phase, Hraparak reports. The paper reminds that first mayor of Sisian, Republican Garnik Hovakimyan will run against current mayor of Sisian, PAP member Aghasi Hakobjanyan in Sisian mayoral election.
It was revealed yesterday that RPA’s Sisian territorial organization will back another candidate, Republican Samvel Tangyan, head of the department of agriculture and nature protection of Syunik governor’s office, the paper says.
NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan visited Syunik governor Suren Khachatryan and, for the sake of his in-law Gagik Tsarukyan, offered the governor to nominate two Republican candidates simultaneously, expecting that votes will divide and PAP’s candidate, current mayor will win the mayoral election, the paper writes.
