Haykakan Zhamanak: Criminal proceedings against Hayk Gevorgyan dropped
According to Haykakan Zhamanak, the criminal proceedings against newspaper’s editor-in-chief Hayk Gevorgyan have been dropped.
The paper reminds that Hayk Gevorgyan is accused of running over a person on January 13, 2012. The investigator decided to drop the case because there is no corpus delicti.
According to the paper, if the case reaches the court, it will be proved that the case was fabricated by police chief Vova Gasparyan or some senior police officer. By dropping the criminal proceedings the police try to avoid it. Hayk Gevorgyan and his lawyer Vahe Grigoryan are going to appeal against the decision to prove that the case was fabricated and to call to account everyone involved in the case, the paper writes.
