Haykakan Zhamanak: Increase in international wheat prices to affect meat prices
International prices of wheat are rising again, hitting a record high. The rise in international wheat prices follows drought in America and forecasts of low wheat harvest in Russia, Haykakan Zhamanak reports. Experts say the rise in wheat prices will cause a rise in prices of meat and meat products. A 10 percent increase in wheat prices results in a 3.5-4 percent increase in meat prices. It’s not hard to predict a rise in prices of bread and other products in Armenia in the near future, the paper writes.
