Great players don't come to Italy, says Galliani
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani believes that the best players in the world do not want to come to Italy anymore, ESPN reported.
Galliani admitted that the financial crisis in the country coupled with a lack of spending power of the big three clubs of Inter, Milan and Juventus means that Italy will struggle to match the Spanish and English clubs in signing the best players of the world.
"Once upon a time great players arrived in Italy, but that is no longer possible," he told.
"Certain players with big transfer fees and big salaries are no longer available to Milan, Inter or Juventus.
"Twenty years ago we made more money than Real Madrid and Barcelona, now we net half of what they generate in revenue.
"Italy has changed as a country and the economy has changed. The problem is not Milan, but all of Italian football."
