Hraparak: ‘Euro repairs’ in police
Former Police Chief Alik Sargsyan exerted much effort trying to change the Soviet mentality of police. However, he had hardly ordered to make a small batch of new police uniforms when he was dismissed prematurely, Hraparak reports.
However, the “reform” of police mentality remains a topical issue under new Police Chief Vova Gasparyan. Besides cadre changes, he also seeks to break the stereotype of Soviet militia, to “Europeanize” the police system. Hot discussions are held in the police system about “Euro repairs” in the proper sense of the word, the paper writes.
