Haykakan Zhamanak: Floating credit to Armenia
Haykakan Zhamanak, citing its sources close to Russian government, reports that Armenian authorities are holding unofficial talks with Russian government over provision of large-scale credit to Armenia. The negotiated sum may fluctuate from 800 million to one billion US dollars. The Armenian side is ready to take the sum with a high and fluctuating interest rate, i.e. the interest rate will depend on the situation in the international market.
The sources also say that the Armenian side seeks to get at least part of the credit by the end of the year, due to the forthcoming presidential elections in 2013.
