Orange partnership with UEFA EURO 2012tm successfully brings Europe’s top football tournament to more fans than ever before
UEFA EURO 2012tm has come to a close and more fans than ever before have been able to enjoy the tournament with the help of Orange, company's press service reported.
Through developing the network for the broadcast transmissions, co-developing the official UEFA EURO 2012tm mobile application, and creating exciting online competitions throughout the tournament, Orange has used its’ digital expertise to help football fans across Europe to support their favorite teams.

Orange helped to make UEFA EURO 2012tm possible by acting as the exclusive telecommunications partner in Poland – providing everything from IT solutions at the stadium, to the networks that supported UEFA’s broadcast partners. The Orange network carried live broadcasts of every match throughout EURO 2012tm with 100% availability, carrying a total of 4 billion megabytes of data between Poland and Ukraine at speeds of 130 gigabytes per second, via 6000km of dedicated network.

The Official EURO 2012tm mobile application with Orange was downloaded by over 2.3 million fans in the 11 European countries where Orange is present, and was ranked the #1 sports app in France, Spain and the UK – with over 400,000 users keeping up with the action via the app during each of the EURO 2012 matches.
Orange Supporters Cup –
The Europe-wide Supporters Cup competition drew in 23,500 competitors, who visited the site nearly 800k times - with each user spent an average of seven minutes on the site at its peak. The winning teams were given a wide range of prizes, including trips to the opening and final matches, for example for team Campiones from Armenia http://oran.ge/LCu2S4 who made a trip for Paris to Warsaw to assist the opening match of UERA EURO 2012.
