‘Day of Silence’ in Artsakh before presidential elections
Today is a ‘Day of Silence’ in Artsakh ahead of the presidential elections, due on July 19.
Three candidates run for president: Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan, MP, former Deputy Defense Minister Vitaly Balasanyan and Arkady Soghomonyan.
As of July 17, there were 98,909 registered voters in Artsakh.
According to the NKR Electoral Code, a copy of the final voter register is to be placed in the central polling place two days before the elections.
According to the NKR CEC, 274 polling stations have been established; one of them is located in the NKR Permanent Representation in Armenia.
Armenian parliamentary delegation will leave for Artsakh today to monitor the presidential elections. 4 local NGOs, representatives of the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia (CEC) as well as members of the Russian Federation State Duma will also monitor the elections.
