Balotelli locks himself in Manchester Airport toilet
He has often been described as having a potty mouth when on the football pitch and acting erratically off it. Mario Balotelli was reportedly so scared of being mobbed by his fans that he found solace in the bathroom and locked himself in an airport toilet, Daily Mail reported.
The 21-year-old arrived at Manchester Airport having flown in from Milan, Italy, for the start of his pre season training.
The controversial striker was standing in arrivals with his friend where he waited patiently for his luggage hoping nobody would see him.
Unfortunately for Super Mario, he was soon spotted by some eagle eyed Manchester City supporters who steadily approached him for photographs and autographs.
As the hysteria built up, the footballer was soon overwhelmed by the growing number of people surrounding him and he had to make a sharp exit.
Still without his bags, Mario made the decision to jump into the gents toilets where locked himself inside a cubicle until the people left.
Eventually he was rescued by some airport staff and was taken to a chauffeur driven car that had been waiting for him.
Mario's small piece of luggage was carried by the airport worker who led him through a special staff entrance that is reserved for high profile stars.
However, even when he was outside of the airport his distinctive style was easily recognisable and people again began taking pictures of him on their mobile phones.
If Mario really wanted to pass under the radar unnoticed he should have probably dressed a little more low key.
The footballer wore a bright orange New York Knicks baseball cap with a white T-shirt and grey shorts.
His departure from Milan was much more low key and he was given the VIP treatment with his car being allowed to drive next to the Ryanair plane he boarded.
