Ankara denies reports of Turkish general’s arrest in Syria
The Turkish Foreign Ministry has categorically denied reports that a Turkish army general was arrested while assisting the Syrian rebels in Aleppo, Hurriyet Daily News said.
Iran's semi-officials Fars News Agency had reported earlier that a Turkish general was captured in Aleppo and was taken to Damascus for interrogations.
A ministry official denied the reports, saying Fars had previously run numerous stories regarding Turkey which were later revealed to be untrue.
Vice Chairman of IRI Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Mansour Haghighat-Pour said that Turkey should answer for the activities of the Turkish general who was arrested in Syria and should explain the purpose of the Turkish general’s trip to Syria.
