Republican Sargis Aramyan wins Talin mayoral election
According to preliminary results, RPA member Sargis Aramyan won Talin mayoral election with 1,274 votes, secretary of local electoral commission No. 15, Andranik Petrosyan told Panorama.am.
PAP candidate Vazgen Khachatryan received 917 votes, non-partisans Vorosh Khachatryan, Gagik Karapetyan and Edward Grigoryan won 840, 190 and 28 votes respectively.
No official complaints from any candidate have been received till now, with the final election results to be announced in a few days, the election official said.
“Despite some tension, the election was normal,” Mr. Petrosyan said.
“There were complaints concerning media interference in the electoral process. We will discuss them later,” he added.
Talin mayor’s position had been vacant since former mayor, RPA member Mnatsakan Mnatsakanyan was elected as MP in the parliamentary election on May 6, 2012.
