Gagik Melikyan: Absolutely logical that Armenian and Russian Presidents intensify mutual visits
“We build up our relationship with Russia on allied countries level, developing cooperation with that country in almost every direction. However, we should not be satisfied with the current level; we need to constantly deepen our relationships,” RPA board member Gagik Melikyan said in an interview with Panorama.am, commenting on Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s recent visit to Russia.
When asked what is the reason behind intensification of mutual visits between Armenian and Russian officials, Gagik Melikyan replied, “Armenia and Russia are allies: we deeply cooperate in economic, political and cultural fields. Under the circumstances, it is absolutely logical that Armenian and Russian officials intensify mutual visits.”
According to him, Armenia takes an active part in the activities of CSTO, and it is not accidental that Armenia will host large-scale CSTO exercise this autumn.
