Hraparak: Systemic changes expected in Armenian Defense Ministry
The position of Armenia’s Military Commissioner has been vacant since Military Commissioner Sergey Chalyan’s dismissal, Hraparak daily reports.
“Discussions are underway over a new model of government in the Defense Ministry. With nothing concrete decided yet, it is possible that the position of Military Commissioner will be liquidated, to transfer the Commissioner’s duties to the General Staff of RA Armed Forces,” the paper says.
Commenting on the news, Armenian Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan said, “We seriously discuss the issue and we cannot rule out major changes to the system.”
