Zhoghovurd: Syunik prosecutor fired for pursuing murder case
Citing well-informed sources, Zhoghovurd daily reports that Arayik Tarverdyan, Syunik region’s prosecutor, was fired due to his tense relationship with Syunik governor Suren Khachatryan.
“A murder was committed in Kapan in 2010, attributed to Suren Khachatryan’s security guard Zarzand Nikoghosyan. However, Sahak Sahakyan, who also worked as a security guard for Suren Khachatryan, was convicted instead of Nikoghosyan. Rumors say Tarverdyan wanted to pursue the case further but he was not allowed to,” the paper writes.
