Turkey calls for UN intervention in Syria
At the invitation of France, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu attended a ministerial meeting of the UN Security Council on the humanitarian situation in Syria on August 30, Cumhuriyet reported.
In his address at the UNSC ministerial meeting, Davutoglu urged the UN Security Council to rapidly intervene in the Syrian conflict.
Davutoglu said: "How long are we going to sit and watch while an entire generation is being wiped out by random bombardment and deliberate mass targeting? Let's not forget that if we do not act against such a crime against humanity happening in front of our eyes, we become accomplices to the crime."
