Richard Giragosian: Armenia should recognize NKR’s independence
It would we wise for Armenia to quit the Nagorno-Karabakh negotiations: seeing Azerbaijan’s behavior, Armenia must think it is senseless to stay in the OSCE Minsk Group, political analyst Richard Giragosian told reporters in Yerevan.
According to him, if the crisis maintains due to Azerbaijan’s negligence, Armenia should take a more serious step – “the Armenian government should already begin thinking about recognizing the Nagorno-Karabakh independence or demanding that other countries recognize it.”
A war may resume between Armenia and Azerbaijan as a result of the crisis, according to the expert.
“The international community should do everything possible to make Azerbaijan understand that it must pay for such a provocation,” Giragosian concluded.
