Nikolay Bordyuzha: Making killer a hero to contribute to escalation of regional tensions
CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha has released a statement regarding the extradition of Azeri officer Ramil Safarov to Azerbaijan.
“Azerbaijan’s decision to pardon and release the Armenian officer’s killer extradited from Hungary goes against the norms of international law and casts doubt on the capability of the interstate crime reaction system.
This move, which was obviously made for timeserving political purposes, cannot be justified in any way. More, making the killer a hero would contribute to the escalation of the already high regional tensions.
I am convinced the international community will not hesitate to give an impartial assessment to what happened.”
